Paula Santos

Paula Santos is a translator for Viver Brasil who helps keep the bridge between Bahia Salvador and Los Angeles running smoothly. She is from Bahia Salvador, and hosts Fulbright scholars in the summer who are interested in fields of study that involve Brazilian culture. She is an integral part of the organization of Dancing at the Source, without whom the travel program would not have been possible. Her dedication to the trip and her understanding of Bahia allows Dancing at the Source to exist. Travelers will learn the historical importance of what is considered the Old City through Paula Santos’ rich understanding of Afro-Brazilian history, colonialism, literature, cinema, racism, and religious traditions.
