Your Donation Matters to us, but not to us alone

Founded in 1997 by Linda Yuin and Luiz Badaro, Viver Brasil has grown in ways that are not at all unimaginable thanks to generous donors, like you.

For over 26 years, donations have allowed Viver Brasil to provide free programming to a diverse and lively community across LA County, who are always eager to learn and explore new ideas and traditions of Afro-Brazilian dance, music, and culture. Vivier Brasil believes that immersing oneself in Afro-Brazilian culture should not be contingent on a person’s wallet.

Donations are ripples that turn into tidal waves. When one person gives, it gives other people the opportunity to join in a global ecosystem of art makers and culture bearers. 

Not everyone who comes to dance, sing, and drum with Viver Brasil have the privilege to donate. Funds raised here support performances, arts education, cultural exchange, and free community engagement programs.

Here is What your donations are doing In real numbers that you can see

$60 supports a dancer or musician for 4 hours of rehearsal. 

$250 supports the cost of 4 hours of rehearsal space.

$1,500 helps fund technology to capture our vision on film.

$5,000 is seed funding for the creation of this work which provides Passos studio time with the dancers and musicians of our company.

Donate to the house that Vera built

Amplify our newest Co-Artistic Director, Veras Passos’ vision to become the owner of a cultural institution in her home in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. At the peak of the pandemic, Vera courageously began Casa De Cultura SoMovimento. 

For the next 3 years, Vera owes $20,000 at the end of each year to the properties original owner before she can officially own the space. We are confident that, with your help, we can make a Black Brazilian woman a property owner. Your support directly contributes to the remaining $80,000 house payment. Together, we can create a vibrant global community and ecosystem of artists and support the House That Vera Built.
