Over the next six weeks Samba in the Streets will take over our weekly Community Class!
The Divine Vivian Caroline and Co- Artistic Director Vera Passos will be leading this in-person AND virtual program.
Vivian is one of the world's most sought-after authorities on Samba Reggae and has been essential in the development of Dida and empowering women to play drums. She recently created YaYa Maximais a women led Samba Reggae group converging rhythmic intersections that mark our existence in the world.

Vera Passos is a Co-Artistic Director of Viver Brasil and the Founder of Casa de Cultura SoMovimento in Salvador, Bahia. Vera is a choreographer, master teacher, dancer, and producer whose profound and indigenous relationship with Afro-Brazilian movement and music richly infuses her teaching and choreography.
We are thrilled to launch this year's Samba in the Streets program as a takeover of our weekly community class that has offered community members across the city of Los Angeles, especially CD9, an opportunity to learn dance, music and rhythms of Afro-Brazilian culture.
