Jenae Jones
Jenae Jones was born and raised in the Baldwin Hills area of South Los Angeles. She attended UCLA, where she earned her B.A. in Psychology, with a double minor in Education Studies and Afro-American Studies. Although she did not major in dance or the fine arts, she still pursued dance and artistic leadership roles while in undergrad. She studied West Afrikan, Modern, and served as Co-Director for the Afrikan Arts Ensemble.
Some of her notable dance accomplishments include live performances at the Los Angeles Clippers Halftime Show, and most recently, Disney California Adventure’s “¡Viva Navidad! Street Fiesta." Some of her most notable choreography accomplishments include working with Emmy Award-Winning band, Lewberger, on their comedy musical, "The Wizard of Friendship," and the upcoming national tour for School Yard Rap's "Moor Than a Month" program. In the film and television sector, she worked as a Principal Dancer in the Amazon Prime film, “Sylvie’s Love,” Beyoncé’s “Black is King” film, and Khalid’s “Right Back” Music Video. Additionally, Jenae danced in a viral “Before I Let Go” challenge video, in which Beyoncé reposted on her own Instagram story, out of thousands of videos that appeared on social media.
Her dance background also aided in her skilled involvement as a Step Master for the Pi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, in which she choreographed winning pieces for yard shows, step shows, stroll competitions, and most recently, a Centennial tribute performance at the Rose Bowl, in which UCLA honored Pi’s 100-year celebration. Her most recent stepping accomplishments include performing on CNN for the televised Live Nation event, “Juneteenth 2023: A Global Celebration For Freedom,” and being featured in the “Divine Line” step documentary.
She is based in Los Angeles, where she works in the mental health sector as a medical biller, and continues to pursue her professional dance, choreography and acting career. In her free time, you can find her training in the studios, traveling, brunching, or enjoying the beach.
