Gabriela Carvalho

Born and raised in Brazil, Gabriela has a bachelor’s degree in economics, and just earned her MBA degree from USC Marshall. Her 8+ years of professional experience in finance spans credit/risk analysis, equity research, and financial modeling. Prior to business school, Gabriela was overseeing a research team within a prominent asset management firm in Brazil.

As huge believer in storytelling as a powerful tool for cultural education, Gabriela always dreamed about building a high-impact career in the entertainment industry. While her career initially centered around finance, Gabriela’s perspective underwent a meaningful shift when she spearheaded a M&A deal between two major film distributors in Brazil and Argentina. It was during this pivotal moment that she recognized the synergy between her financial expertise and her deep-seated passion for the industry.

Following this experience, Gabriela decided to move to the U.S. to pursue her MBA and make a career transition to the entertainment industry. Her plan yielded results as she was assumed a senior role at Roku in the Treasury department after she graduated in May.

What makes Gabriela particularly enthusiastic about Viver Brasil is the opportunity to support an organization whose ultimate mission is to foster her own culture heritage, while utilizing her finance expertise and staying in touch with her creative self.

Outside the office, you can find her playing beach tennis, hosting dinner parties or being an armchair film critic.
